Today we’ll read Deuteronomy chapter 25, Acts chapter 11, and Psalm 71, from the Good News Translation.
May God bless the reading of His Word.
As I was reading today, I decided that Psalm 71 would be my theme. In the version we’re reading today, the heading of the chapter is “The Prayer of an Elderly Person”. I don’t quite consider myself elderly yet, but I have lived long enough for me to really identify with this one. The writer talks about how God has been his protecter and shelter over the years, and how God has brought him through difficult times. He talks about how his life has been an example to many, because of how God has been his defender. These examples, and pretty much all the other things written about in this beautiful psalm really are my life. I don’t know when I’m going to have the time, but I really need to memorize this one.
