The Book of Psalms is the longest book in the Bible, with the shortest chapter and the longest chapter. In most Bibles, the longest chapter, which is in the middle of the book, is also the middle of the Bible.
Paul finishes his letter to the Galatian church by telling them to not put themselves back into bondage to the law, but to be free in Christ and to serve one another in love.
The Book of Job ends today, and we begin the New Testament book of Galatians. The Apostle Paul asserts emphatically that is is faith that saves a person, not adhering to the law.
God’s awesome response to Job continues.
Elihu finishes and God begins. This response from God is awesome.
Elihu begins sharing his wisdom with Job and his friends.
Job now talks about his present misery and contrasts it with the past. Then he vindicates himself once more before speaking his final piece. At this point, a young man named Elihu, who has heretofore remained silent, in deference to the older men, speaks up. He’s frustrated with the elder men, and feels as if he has something important to say.
Job restates his innocence, talks about wisdom and where it can and cannot be found, and remembers what his life used to be like.
