Lifespring! Family Audio Bible - Steve Webb

As you know if you heard yesterday’s episode, my son Steven had surgery yesterday, and it was a long day, and I don’t have the stamina to do a regular three chapter edition of the show today. I’ll tell you about Steven’s day on the other side of the reading.

Today I’ll read for you Psalm 15 from the Good News Translation

READING

May God bless the reading of His Word.

God rewards the righteous man.

So yesterday we arrived at the hospital at about 9:30, after having woke up at about 7. His previous surgery had us at the hospital at about 5 a.m., so yesterday was better. Surgery was supposed to begin at 11:30, but they didn’t actually take him until around 2 o’clock. While we waited, we talked about the Dodgers, iPhone vs Android and various other things. Steven is a huge Dodger fan, and an Android aficionado.

When they wheeled him away, we went across the street to have lunch. By the way, the “we” I speak of is my wife, the lovely Lady LeeAnn, Steven’s little brother Tim, Steven’s girlfriend Tarynne, LeeAnn’s mom, and me.

We took about an hour for lunch. After waiting for nearly an hour, LeeAnn went to the desk to ask how surgery was going, and she found that we somehow missed the call in the rather large waiting room that he was already out of surgery. Weird. But we were told that everything went well, there were no surprises, and he would be in his hospital room very soon.

We got to his room about ten minutes after he did, and he was awake, albeit a little groggy, as you might expect. His pain level was about a 4 out of 10, but he was doing well. The rest of the afternoon and evening went very uneventfully, with him dozing occasionally and waking up to watch the Dodgers beat the Yankees.

We’ll go back to the hospital in the morning to meet with his surgeon and then spend the day by his side. LeeAnn will spend the night there, while I come home to get some work done.

Thank you so much for your prayers. God has been with us through every step of this very long road that began last November, hit its nadir on January 8th when he nearly passed on to be with the Lord, and the very long climb back to where he is now. God is merciful, and I know He must have wonderful plans for my son. Amen.

So tomorrow, barring any unforeseen glitches, we should have a full episode for you.
