Among other things today, we see some of the foundations for the justice system used in the United States. Obviously, we don’t use all of the Levitical law in the U.S., and the reasons for that are not in the purview of this podcast.

God continues preparing the people for entry into the promised land.

God continues His preparation of the people for their entry into the Promised Land.

God reminds the people once again how He brought them out of Egypt, how they rebelled, how they must keep His commandments, how and why He chose them from among all the nations of the world, and that He will give them the lands that He had promised to their ancestors.

God reminds this new generation of the things He did to bring the children of Israel out of Egypt, then reminds them of the importance of keeping His laws in order for things to go well for them in the Promised Land.

Today God begins to make good His promise to hand over to the children of Israel the land He promised them. Moses asks God if he might be able to cross over the Jordan and enter the Promised Land.

Today we finish Mark with the resurrection of Jesus, and Deuteronomy continues the saga of Moses and the children of Israel.

Today we read of the plot against Jesus, the betrayal, and the crucifixion.
