Kings, alliances, prophesies, miraculous victories, moral defeats.

Some kings follow God and are blessed, others follow for a time and suffer loss.

King Solomon amazes kings and queens from around the world, including the queen of Sheba, with his wisdom and wealth. But after his death at a good old age, his son Rehoboam does not follow the Lord.

The temple is completed, as are the celebrations.

1 Chronicles ends with King David’s reign ending and 2 Chronicles begins with Solomon building the Temple.

The names of men who had important jobs in the temple.

David begins making preparations for the Temple of the Lord to be built, knowing that it is Solomon who will accomplish the construction.

David and all Israel celebrate the return of the Ark of the Covenant, David gives Israel a song of praise to sing to God, and he offers a prayer of praise when God tells him that He will make a dynasty of David’s house.

David brings the ark of the covenant back to Jerusalem, but not until after a setback.
