Today God begins to make good His promise to hand over to the children of Israel the land He promised them. Moses asks God if he might be able to cross over the Jordan and enter the Promised Land.

Jesus walks on water, feeds five thousand with five loaves of bread and two fish, and other miracles. Also, John the Baptizer is killed because of a young girl’s dancing.

In today’s reading Jesus tells the parable of the seed sown on different types of soil and performs many miracles, demonstrating his loving and tender heart.

We finish the book of Numbers and begin the New Testament book of Mark.
