Today we’ll read Numbers 13, Luke 8 from the New International Reader’s Version, and the 23rd Psalm from the King James Version.
Before we get to the reading, as has been our custom lately, I would like to encourage you to check out PineConeCoffee.com if you are a coffee lover. If you don’t care what you drink, then don’t bother. Just continue drinking your convenience store coffee, or the one from the green mermaid. But if you really like the experience of brewing your own coffee, just the way you like it, with high quality coffee beans, using just the perfect roast, then now would be a great time to get started with Pine Cone Coffee. They have lots of flavors and several different roasts to choose from. And they’re all available in packages as small as a half pound. So if you’re not sure which one is perfect for you, just buy half pound packages until you find your favorites. And when you order a minimum of 2 lbs, you get free shipping! Plus there’s a money back guarantee. If you don’t agree this is some of the best coffee you’ve ever had, my friends Del and Kathi Brixey will refund your money. How you gonna beat that? So if you really *enjoy* a good cup of coffee, go to PineConeCoffee.com and order today. If you don’t care about the coffee you drink, then I can’t help you.
READING
May God bless the reading of His Word.
Today in Numbers 13 we were introduced to Joshua, son of Nun. A man of valor. A man of faith. We’ll hear much more about him in upcoming chapters.
I always find it a bit comical when the disciples say, “Who is this?” when Jesus does a miracle they haven’t seen before. I mean, it’s not like they haven’t seen him heal people, cast out demons and such. I know, though, that His divinity is slowly being revealed to them as their faith grows. And really, that is not unlike our experience with him. It truly is a huge miracle when we are born again, but we often don’t see that as something as remarkable as it truly is. And then as God reveals Himself as being utterly trustworthy, our faith in Him grows, and we begin to see what a mighty God we serve.
The 23rd Psalm is one of the most, if not *the* most famous passages of scripture. I love reading it from the King James Version. It’s a chapter that never ceases to bring calm to my soul.
