Today’s episode of Lifespring! One Year Bible Rewind brings us to the closing chapters of Isaiah. As Isaiah 62–66 unfolds, we hear both the weight of God’s judgment and the breathtaking promise of renewal. At the heart of today’s reading is Isaiah 65:17, where God declares that He is creating a new heaven and a new earth. It’s a vision of restoration that looks beyond present brokenness toward a future shaped entirely by God’s faithfulness.

When God Makes All Things New

Today’s Reading

Today’s reading is Isaiah 62–66.

Verse of the Day

Isaiah 65:17 — “The Lord says, ‘I am making a new earth and new heavens. The events of the past will be completely forgotten.’”

What This Episode Is About

The final chapters of Isaiah pull back the curtain on God’s long-term plan for His people and His creation. We see a God who is both holy and compassionate, one who confronts rebellion but also promises comfort, healing, and lasting joy for those who trust Him.

Isaiah 65 reminds us that God’s solution to a broken world is not a quick fix. Instead, He promises a complete renewal. Sorrow gives way to joy. Violence gives way to peace. Even creation itself is restored to harmony. This is not escape from reality; it is the fulfillment of God’s original intent.

In today’s reflection, we consider this promise through a familiar lens: just as corrupted systems sometimes need a complete reset, God promises a future where everything broken by sin is fully restored. What He saves, He restores. What He renews, He makes new.

Why This Matters

Isaiah’s closing vision reminds us that God’s story does not end with what is broken. It ends with renewal. No matter how corrupted things may feel now, God promises a future where He makes all things new, and nothing that matters is lost.
