Lifespring!214-Jesus Music Pioneer Chuck Girard Went To Be With The Lord Today

Jesus Music pioneer, Chuck Girard passed away today, Monday August 11, 2025, according to his wife. This is her post from Instagram at about 2 pm, pacific time: “This is Chuck’s wife, Karen. It is with great sorrow, yet also great joy, to let you know that Chuck has moved to Heaven and will be eternally with Jesus! He lift this earth at rest and in total peace, surrounded by family. We praise the Lord for His great mercy and for His gift of Chuck’s music, message, and heart. “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” We’re grateful for Jesus who paid the price for all who received Him. Thank you to all of you who have prayed for Chuck and held us in prayer.”

I never met Chuck in person, but all the way back in November of 2008, I had the pleasure of interviewing him over the phone. He was a blast to talk to, and I think you will really enjoy the conversation. I learned, for example, that Chuck was in the music business long before the Jesus Revolution days. He was in a group that had a hit song having to do with a little Honda scooter. Old folks like me will know immediately what I’m talking about. You younger whipper-snappers will learn about it in the interview.

Chuck Girard is such a wonderful singer. He has been on my mind all week. I was playing his music on my phone as I walked through the bridge to the parking lot at the large hospital complex my husband was at for over 2 months, less than a week ago. I remember meeting Chuck Girard at D.L. Stranges meeting back in the 1980s and he had the joy of the Lord. The meeting was at a huge cathedral on Park Avenue in Manhattan. Condolences to the family and to all his friends.

Thank you for your comment, Michele. Yes, Chuck was quite a guy. And he will be missed. I’m sure he is having the time of his life right now, praising the Lord with the Heavenly choir.
