Today was a sad one for me. I’ve been a huge fan of George Jones for many, many years. Certainly not the lifestyle he lived most of his life, but his voice and the way he delivered a song just really touched my heart.

He had a lot of heartache in his life, much of it self-inflicted, and all of the pain came through in his songs. I so related to many of them.

Thankfully, he came to know the Lord in a very personal way in 1999 after a car accident that almost killed him. So when he sang “Amazing Grace”, you knew the words were very real to him.

Today, George Jones is basking in the presence of the Lord.
