David’s sin is revealed today, and God pronounces consequences. What David reaped, he sows in the following chapters.

King David defeats more armies, and falls victim to his own lusts. This episode contains possibly one of the most famous (infamous?) episodes in human history.

The Lord tells David that He will establish his (David’s) house for all time, and David offers one of the most beautiful prayers of praise we have yet seen in our journey through the Bible thus far.

David is anointed king and he takes the reigns of power, but not without tragedy.

The book of 1 Samuel ends today with the death of King Saul and his sons, including Jonathan, at the hands of the Philistines.

David refuses to harm the Lord’s chosen one.
