How would you like to have been in Isaiah’s shoes, delivering these messages of doom and calamity?

It is good to keep in mind that in this book, Isaiah often talks about the mercy and grace that God wants to give to the people who will turn from their wicked ways. He says, “the Lord will have compassion”, and God will be “a refuge from the storm”.

The reason for chapters like we read today is to give a solemn warning of what will come to those who refuse to repent and follow God.

Yes, He is a God of grace, but He is also a righteous and holy God.
