Have I told you that I love Sundays? I’m sure I have. I love gathering with my church family to praise and worship the Lord, and to be fed from His Word. Today we’ll read Genesis chapter 41 from the New International Version.
READING
May God bless the reading of His Word.
So even though Joseph had to spend those two years in prison, it looks like things are working out for him. He’s now the number two man in all the land of Egypt. You know , this gives me encouragement in more than one way. How about this: no matter how hard life gets, God can turn it around on a dime. I can imagine Joseph on that fateful day when Pharaoh sent for him to interpret his dreams. I’m sure he must have woke up that morning just the same way as the previous two years of his incarceration. He was probably just expecting another dreary day. And then all of a sudden Pharaoh’s messenger tells the warden that Pharaoh wants Joseph to be sent to him right away. Bam! Instantly, Joseph’s life is changed.
All that to say, hang in there brother or sister, if you are going through a rough time right now. Hey, I’m right with you. I am too. But the same God that rescued Joseph is still on the throne. He’s still in charge. He hasn’t forgotten you. Keep the faith.
Well my friend, I guess that’ll do it for today. I’ll see you tomorrow. Until then, may God bless you richly. I’m Steve Webb.
