May God bless the reading of His Word.

I have to laugh when I read this chapter of Numbers. The people are whining to Moses because they have no meat to eat. Never mind the fact that God is feeding them with manna from heaven! And Moses is whining to God because of the people’s whining to him! I love what Moses said. “What have I done wrong that you’re laying these people on me? They’re not MY children! If you love me, kill me right here and now!” Cracks me up. Of course, God came up with a good plan to help Moses out, and then He gives the people meat to eat. And then some! Sorta lets us know that we really shouldn’t second guess God’s provision, huh? But how often do we do just that? I know I have.

Chapter 6 of Luke had so much in it that it’s hard to summarize it to one or two sentences. I’ll just say that I love hearing what Jesus said in the Beatitudes. The “Blessed are you” sermon. Whether it’s from Matthew or here in Luke, I love the Beatitudes.

And the praise of David for God, “And in Your salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!”
