I have a brief update on the health of my son, Steven for you today. In case you’re new to the Lifespring! Family Audio Bible and haven’t heard, we nearly lost my 21 year old son just after the first of the year. He had an extremely bad case of ulcerative colitis, which caused a perforation to the colon on January 8th. He had to have emergency surgery, and they removed his colon. Because the contents of the colon spilled out into his abdomen, he became very, very ill, and was hospitalized for over a month. While he was in the hospital, he got a case of pneumonia and the doctors had a very hard time getting rid of the infection in his abdomen caused by the perforation. Steven had a very long road back to health. About four months after this surgery, he was operated on again in order to have a J-pouch constructed from some of his small intestines, so that he would be able to live without an ileostomy. That surgery went very well, and then about six weeks later he had his final surgery that completed the process for him to live as normal a life as possible. That surgery was about two weeks ago. Yesterday was his post-op checkup, and this is the report that his girlfriend put on FB today: Just visited Steven’s surgeon Dr. Mills for the first post-op visit. Steven is doing absolutely faaaantastic and can even start riding his bike and running. In a few more weeks he’ll be able to do core exercises. Nothing but great news today. Such an awesome feeling to know the next doctor appointment he has to go to (knock on wood) isn’t for a year!
So the lovely Lady Leeann and I are praising God for his healing touch on our son. For those of you who have prayed for Steven, we thank you.
