Today we’ll read Numbers 27, Luke 22 and Psalm 37 from the Holman Christian Standard Bible.

May God bless the reading of His Word.

While I was on Facebook today, I saw a post that was particularly antagonistic about Christianity in particular and religion in general. One of the charges made was that the Bible did not treat women as equals.

Our reading in Numbers showed the opposite, didn’t it? When God gave the law, He said that when a man died, his sons should inherit His property. But Zelophehad’s daughters came before Moses, who took their case to the Lord. And of course God said the daughters should get the inheritance. They could have been passed over, but they were not.

And of course there are women in the Bible who played important roles and had leadership roles. Ours is not a religion that hates or degrades women.
