It’s been a while since the last episode, hasn’t it? My apologies. I’m not going to go into all the reasons for my absence other than to say that life gets in the way, sometimes.
The important thing now is that the New LSFAB is back, and as far as I am able to see, we’re back for the long haul, unless God has other plans.
There will be a new format. These days, I have much less time to devote to podcasting, so that means episodes here will be shorter. In the past, each episode had a chapter from the OT, a chapter from the NT and a chapter from either the Psalms or Proverbs, and the goal was to read through the entire Bible in a year. With the new format, we will read one chapter only, unless it is a very short or very long chapter. My goal is to average no more than ten minutes per episode. Some chapters can be read in a minute or two, and some take much longer than ten minutes. In those cases we’ll either read more than one chapter to bring the episode to around ten minutes, or we’ll break a chapter into multiple episodes to keep the episodes around that ten minute mark.
We will have a Monday through Friday schedule, taking the weekends off.
Obviously, we will take longer than a year to get through, but I think that the more leisurely pace will be a good thing. First off, your host will not be overworked and stressed about the schedule, and secondly, a slower pace will hopefully allow us to get more meaning out of each reading. The world has enough stress as it is, right? God’s Word should be a place of refuge, not anxiety.
I hope the change is okay with you.
We’re going to pick up where we left off in the reading, so today we’ll read Deuteronomy chapter 32. Tomorrow it will be Acts chapter 18, and Wednesday we will read Psalm 78. This week, our Bible translation will be the Common English Bible.
READING
May God bless the reading of His Word.
Now is the time where I would say something about the reading, but with the longer than normal introduction today, we’re already over the 10 minute mark. So let me quickly just let you know how to contact me.
If you would like to write to me, my email is st***@*************ia.com. There’s a fb group at LifespringMedia.com/facebook, and my Twitter handle is _SteveWebb_. I answer every email and respond to almost every comment on FB and Twitter.
Also, please don’t forget to leave an honest review at iTunes. I must say, I was really pleased to see this review come in on August 26 of this year, before I even knew I would be restarting the readings. JethroBoDean2525 wrote “Can’t wait for the next round of audio recording and commentary. Jeff Dean, White Castle, LA” and he rated the show 5 stars. Thanks, Jeff. Your comment helped get me back to this microphone.
For a quick link to leave your iTunes review, just go to LifespringMedia.com/love. And I’ll thank you in advance for taking a couple of minutes to do that.
Until tomorrow, may God bless you richly. I’m Steve Webb.
