Today’s three chapters sort of run the gamut from praising God in times of joy and pouring out one’s heart in times of trial.
As I record this episode on January 8, 2015 at about 8 o’clock in the evening, I just found out a few minutes ago that the wonderfully talented Gospel songwriter and singer Andrae Crouch has gone to be with the Lord. I’ve been a fan of his for about 40 years. I still have a vinyl album of his from the 70s.
One of his songs is titled “Through It All”, and it goes really well with our reading today. I’m going to put a video on the show notes page at LifespringMedia.com of the song if you’d like to hear it. Verse three is especially good. It says:
I thank God for the mountains,
and I thank Him for the valleys,
I thank Him for the storms He brought me through.
For if I’d never had a problem,
I wouldn’t know God could solve them,
I’d never know what faith in God could do
And the chorus says:
Chorus:
Through it all,
through it all,
I’ve learned to trust in Jesus,
I’ve learned to trust in God.
Through it all,
through it all,
I’ve learned to depend upon His Word.
Amen, brother Andrae. And now you’re singing in the presence of the King.
