Lifespring! Family Audio Bible - Steve WebbCommentary on Today’s Reading

Remember the judgement God brought to David after the Bathsheba incident? ““Because of what you have done, I will cause your own household to rebel against you.” Last time the judgement started in David’s own home, and now it’s affecting his kingdom. Absalom has begun an open rebellion against his father.

The thing is, if he had just waited, the kingdom would be his anyway, since he is first in line to take the throne. But pride, and arrogance have made him impatient. It’s going to take about three more chapters for this to play out. What do you suppose will happen with David and Absalom? Keep coming back to find out.

Dog Days of Podcasting

It has been an honor and a pleasure to be a part of this challenge that Kreg Stepp began four or five years ago I believe. I just went to dogdaysofpodcasting.com to confirm the date, but the site is down. Which is sort of funny since today is the last day of the challenge. I’m sure Kreg is working on it even as I speak.

The point is, I’ve enjoyed listening to the other podcasters who joined in this year. This was my first year, and I didn’t really know what I was in for. There were comic book podcasts, story telling podcasts, comedy, daily diaries, music, educational, and more. What an eclectic group! Everyone had something to contribute, and it’s been quite a task to try to keep up, which I must confess I failed at. But I did at least sample every show.

For those of you podcasters who may still be listening to this show, thank you for the honor of giving me the most precious gift any of us have, your time. I hope you have found listening worthwhile, and I truly hope you’ll stick around.

I hope I’ve been able, with my after-the-reading remarks, to show you that God is not angry with you, that He loves you, and has done everything possible to bring you into a relationship with Him. He offers you the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ, His Son. I hope I’ve been able to show you that Christians are not like the media and popular culture portrays us to be. We are not about being against everything. We are about being for love. We are all broken. Every one of us. And we all desperately need the love and forgiveness that is only available through Jesus. My primary concern is not what you do or don’t do.

I do sincerely want you to know Jesus Christ, because I believe that He is the only way to the Father. I believe that not because I am narrow minded, but because He said it Himself. “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father but by me.” If that statement intrigues you, or if you’d like to know more about why Jesus said that, then write to me, and keep listening to the show. I’m always happy to answer email. If you’d like to have a dialog via email privately, I’m here. st***@*************ia.com.
