I Am Not A Financially Rich Man

I mentioned this yesterday, but it bears repeating, especially with the Christmas gift giving season upon us. It has been years since I mentioned how you can support the show, and since then I have produced several hundred more episodes in the Lifespring! Media family of podcasts. Those several hundred episodes represent literally thousands of hours of production time in the studio and at the computer writing scripts and commentary.

I’m going to be honest with you. I am far from a rich man, and I need your help. 1 Timothy 5:18 says, “Those who work deserve their pay!” That’s an early mention of what is known today as the value-for-value model. If someone produces something of value, then they should receive financial support equal to that value.

Do you receive value from the LSFAB? How much value you think I bring to your life by producing the LSFAB. If you listen every day, on a normal week you are receiving a minimum of 50 minutes of Bible reading and commentary. In a year’s time, that’s over forty hours. How much is that worth to you? What does that bring to your life? Is that worth a weekly or a monthly donation?

I have set up a page here. Go there and prayerfully consider if the Lord would have you give a one time gift or set up a monthly gift.

For varying amounts, I have set up several different gifts I would like to give back to you, in addition to continuing the production of this and (hopefully) other shows in the Lifespring! family of podcasts. At one time, I produced about seven different Lifespring! shows. I had to stop because, as I mentioned yesterday, I need to make a living.

But if enough of you support me in a true value-for-value fashion, I can get back to producing some of the other shows.

Commentary

Here at the beginning of chapter 21, we see a new heaven and a new earth. It is a glorious new creation, and the beginning of an indescribably marvelous and wonderful eternity with God. God will actually dwell with us, and we will be able to see Him just as we see each other now.

There will be no sorrow, no pain, no decay, no sickness, no sin, no temptation, no weakness at all of the flesh, because we will all be in our brand new glorified bodies. No strife, no wars, no envy, no hypocrisy. None of the things that bring us pain and heartbreak today.

My friend, after more than 61 years here on earth, I cannot tell you how much I am looking forward to this time. I’m not going to do anything to shorten my time here, but I do not dread leaving this place either. How about you?

The New Jerusalem is described in chapter 21, and I believe that this is where we will live, but with twelve gates (which never close) in the four walls, I believe that we will be free to come and go. There will be an eternity to worship around the throne of God, but I believe we will also be doing other things in that eternity. What sort of things? I don’t know.

I do know that God is an infinitely creative God, and as His sons and daughters in our glorified bodies, I believe that He has some infinitely creative plans for us! Jesus paid the ultimate price to buy our admission into this eternity, and as His bride, we are in store for an incredible eternity that we cannot even begin to imagine.
