Lifespring! Family Audio Bible - Steve WebbYou’ll remember that a couple of episodes ago, Peter had the vision of the cloth bearing previously considered unclean foods brought down from heaven. And angel of the Lord told him that these were now considered clean because whatever God creates is good. (My translation.) And then the Roman centurion sent messengers to bring Peter to him, where God showed Peter that even Romans are allowed into the fellowship of Christians.

Here in chapter 19 we read the prophecy that the Egyptians and Assyrians will one day be lovers of God along with the Jews. I see this as literal, but also representative of the message given to Peter that all people who will accept the message of the Gospel are welcome, and people of every tongue and tribe will spend eternity with God.

Seems to be a theme lately, doesn’t it? Pretty cool how God has a way of reinforcing His message.
