It’s 2:05 a.m. and I just heard the GoDaddy spot that Podshow tagged at the beginning of my show. I’ve told them that the language is not suitable for the show, and that I want it removed.

If you received a copy of the podcast that did not have the opening and ending tags on the show, it’s because I uploaded a copy to my servers after hearing the one from podshow. Until I get approval on the tags, this is where the show will come from.

If you got the podshow version, please know that I did not know that these were going to be added, and please accept my apologies.

Now, for the show notes…

Finishing the miniseries on prayer and announcing a great new addition to the Lifespring! website.

There is a great new Lifespring! listeners’ forum on the shownotes page here. Look in the sidebar to the right of this entry, or click here.

Good for you, Steve! I have to say that because of the kind of advertising Go Daddy has consistently used (beginning with the Super Bowl spot with the dingy chick that jumped up in the middle of the meeting a year or so ago) I will NEVER use any of their services. Never. I just can’t bring myself to support a company that objectifies women AND promotes immorality in its’ advertising campaigns. But it’s great that Adam and Podshow work with you on this, and raises the level of respect I have for what they’re doing a bit.

  2. Christy, I respect your opinion on this, and it’s the reason I sought the wisdom and advice from people I respect and admire. Not to mention quite a bit of prayer.

I chose to go ahead with this sponsorship agreement for several reasons One is that I have made a decision to take the message of hope, love, and good news to the secular world. In doing that, I think that it is important to realize that I will be dealing with people who need to hear that message.

GoDaddy does provide great services at great prices, and they have supported podcasting almost since the beginning. I commend them for that.

Now that they are sponsoring the Lifespring! family of shows, they are now supporting the message that the world needs to hear. I have not and will not compromise the message of Jesus. Both Podshow and GoDaddy have seen that with the statement I have made regarding the tag at the beginning of the show. (The end tag will also be changed.)

I have used GoDaddy’s services and products for many years. They have not bought my support. They earned it long before podcasting.

I hope this short explanation helps.

On #79 with 5:19 minutes left in the show, there is silence, then it skips to the next podcast on my iPod…I don’t think it’s a glitch with my iPod but thought I’d let you all know!
