Several years ago, the church I attended was called “Calvary Temple”. My brother-in-law, Steve O’Brien, was Associate Pastor of the church at that time. He wanted to start a separate worship service to be held on Saturday afternoons and wanted to give that service a name that would differentiate it as something unique…unlike anything Calvary Temple was doing at the time. After thinking a few days, inspired by John 4:13-14, I suggested the name “Lifespring”.

And that became the name of the Saturday service.

I don’t recall when the Saturday services were discontinued, but in November of 2004, when the podcast was birthed, I liked the name so much that I named the world’s first Christian all-podcast podcast “Lifespring!”.

A few years after that, Calvary Temple officially changed its name to LifeSpring Assembly of God.
